Central Electricity Center will create new momentum for Quang Nam

Quang Nam province's industry will develop towards a circular economy , with high specialization and automation; in which the Central Electricity Center project will create new development momentum.

According to the Planning of Quang Nam province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister , the province's industry will develop towards a circular economy, with high specialization and automation; rapidly increase the contribution of the processing and manufacturing industry and become the main pillar in the economy.

At the same time, promote the development of the industry of manufacturing and assembling automobiles, mechanical, electrical and electronic products; form a national multi-purpose mechanical and automobile center, develop supporting industries associated with logistics services, seaport, airport and railway logistics.

Quang Nam province's planning also emphasizes promoting the development of the Central Power Center project associated with industries using energy and post-gas products in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, creating new development momentum for the province and region.

It is known that the Central Power Center, consisting of 4 power plants with a total capacity of 3,000 MW, using raw materials exploited from the Blue Whale mine, has had its planning approved by the Prime Minister and is promoting investment preparation work.

In July 2023, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province assigned the Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks to preside over and coordinate with relevant sectors to implement the contents proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the document on promoting the implementation of the Blue Whale Gas - Power Project Chain.

Industry will become the main economic pillar of Quang Nam province.

Quang Nam province's planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, also prioritizes the construction of industrial parks and high-tech industrial parks in the delta region to attract industries with high knowledge content, automation, high added value, and large budget contributions.

At the same time, innovate technology and develop reasonably and sustainably the mining industry, construction materials production, silica processing, garment, fashion, beverage, consumer goods, preservation industry, agricultural product processing, and wood products.

Invest in industrial clusters in rural and mountainous areas to develop industries associated with solving local labor and raw materials; limit the acceptance of manufacturing industries that use a lot of energy and have the risk of causing pollution.

The total planned area for industrial park development in Quang Nam will be more than 10,165 hectares.

According to the Industrial Park Development Plan, Quang Nam province will review and adjust the scale of industrial parks being implemented, eliminate inappropriate planning areas, focus on synchronous investment in infrastructure and attract investment.

In addition, new industrial parks will be added in Dien Ban, Dai Loc, Que Son, Thang Binh, Hiep Duc, Phu Ninh, Tien Phuoc, connected to the corridors of national highways, expressways in the province and convenient provincial roads.

In parallel, the industrial parks east of the Da Nang - Quang Ngai highway will develop according to the ecological industrial park model, focusing on attracting industries that limit emissions to the environment, have high added value, and use land and energy economically.
