Wanted for resisting law enforcement officers at sea

On the afternoon of September 12, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police announced that it had issued a wanted notice for Huynh Van Tai (born in 1983, residing in Van Khanh Commune, An Giang Province) for the crime of resisting a person on official duty.

According to the case file, the patrol team consisted of the following forces: Police, military and border guards of Son Hai commune, Kien Luong district, Kien Giang province (now Son Hai commune, An Giang province) organized patrols to ensure security and order at sea.

At about 3:40 p.m. on January 1, 2025, the patrol team arrived at the area near Hon Da Bac and discovered about 40 boats and tugboats gathered at anchor in this area.

In which, Huynh Van Tai and a group of friends organized a drinking party on a boat; hearing that there was a Border Guard boat, Tai's group weighed anchor, approached the patrol boat, and cursed the patrol force.

Although the patrol team informed them that they were on a patrol mission at sea, Tai's group did not comply, but continued to curse and used ropes to tie up and pull the boat of the task force towards Tien Trien port. At this time, the patrol team called the Hon Chong Port Border Guard Station to direct support forces.

When they heard that support forces were coming, Tai's group untied the patrol boat's rope and quickly steered the boat away.

After initiating the case, on April 1, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of Kien Giang Province (now An Giang Province) issued a decision to prosecute Huynh Van Tai for resisting a person on official duty. However, the subject fled his residence. On September 5, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province issued a wanted notice for Huynh Van Tai.

If Huynh Van Tai is found anywhere, people can immediately report to the Office of the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Provincial Police (No. 507, Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Rach Gia Ward, An Giang Province) or the nearest police station to handle the case according to the law.
