But that paradox is also a miracle. Dinh Viet Tuong (23 years old) optimistically said that God took something away from him and gave him something else. God left him with TICS syndrome that was almost incurable, but gave him a wonderful gift: his passion for singing.

There were moments when he was completely immersed in the song, in the story, and the disease let him go a little.

"The wall burned that cocoon already."

Tuoi Tre met Dinh Viet Tuong again after three years. His TICS was now more severe, his seizures were more frequent, stronger, and noisier, but Tuong still went out, met people, and talked. The illness was more severe, but Tuong was used to it. Not only that, he looked much happier and more confident.

Wherever Tuong appears, people pay attention, there are some unfriendly looks, but he is still happy when some young people and adults recognize him "Viet Tuong!" and praise "Tuong sings very well, Tuong, keep it up". There are compliments on social networks like "Tuong, Tuong is extraordinary!" that motivate him.

Three years ago, when Tuong first spoke to Tuoi Tre, he said he was still living in a cocoon and trying to tear it apart to escape. But three years later, things have changed.

"Now that cocoon is gone. I burned that cocoon already" - Tuong said with a bright smile.

But those three years were not all smooth sailing for Tuong. After unsuccessfully casting for entertainment shows and failing the entrance exam to the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, he returned to his hometown in Quang Tri and decided not to return to Ho Chi Minh City. He planned to teach dance in his hometown, earn enough to get by, and live a life without the spotlight.

But Tuong's relationship with the stage did not stop there. When the program All-round Rookie announced the casting at the beginning of the year, Tuong was encouraged by his friends to participate. A comment line suggesting that he compete received 1,000 interactions. And Tuong boldly registered for the competition, returned to Ho Chi Minh City, stayed in the house he used to live in, practiced dancing and singing, and waited for the competition.

Throughout the process, Tuong had to fight against discouragement that could come at any time. On the day of the casting, before the competition, he became even more discouraged when he saw that all the other contestants were beautiful, sang well, danced well, and most importantly, were "normal".

Stepping onto the stage, Tuong could only show his best and confide his honest thoughts. Judge ST Son Thach said: "You are already omnipotent by coming here today." He was one of 100 contestants to advance to the next round.

Although he did not make it into the top 30 of the All-Rookies, Tuong still received sweet rewards for his efforts. His TikTok channel increased by 300,000 followers. And what is more precious are the singing opportunities.

Tuong's first big show was Bui Cong Nam's music night at the Youth Cultural House (HCMC) on May 23 with about 800 spectators. On June 13, he was invited to sing in singer Hien Thuc's music night at Khong Ten tea room.

Tuong also remembers the memory of being invited to watch the showcase of the band BOF, where he met the cute "all-around rookies" again, everyone happily took pictures with Tuong.

Singing the song " I'm Extraordinary" with his brother Bui Cong Nam, Dinh Viet Tuong was comforted a lot by the lyrics and his confidences.

"Small feet, don't want to go far" is when he only sings in front of the mirror, not daring to sing in front of people. "Afraid of tripping and falling, I can't step over" is when he doesn't dare to compete for fear of being laughed at. "And now today I stand here" - he admits that he hasn't succeeded, isn't anything yet, but being able to stand on stage is already fun.

And "The miracle in me", for Tuong, his miracle is that a person with TICS syndrome has such a burning passion for music .

But through the concerts, the audience encouraged me to be confident, to sing well to be able to touch people's hearts. Because if you don't touch them, they won't cry?" - Tuong confided.

Thanks to the good fortune from the All-round Rookie and the series of memories that followed, Tuong is confident that he can live well in Saigon in this comeback. In addition to singing on stage, he also makes a living by singing on TikTok, working as a photo model...

He admitted that his first singing performances still had many shortcomings. He wanted to persevere in practicing his voice and performance skills to be worthy of the audience's support.

He revealed that a famous musician had promised to dedicate a new song to him, written about him. Tuong was very happy and waited every day to sing that song.
