Commending a group of brave high school students who braved the rain to rescue people in the flood

Tan Ky District Youth Union and Tan Ky High School, Tan Ky District, Nghe An Province held a ceremony to honor a group of brave students who rescued people in the flood.

Mr. Le Khac Thuc, Principal of Tan Ky High School, said that the students' actions came from self-awareness, helping people in need and should be recognized and praised in front of the whole school for other students to follow.

"After verification, the school learned that there were two more students in the group. We are always proud and wish that all students of the school have such beautiful actions... The beautiful actions of the students are a shining example of courage, humanity, love, and sharing with the community in times of hardship and difficulty, and are worth spreading and replicating," said Mr. Thuc.

Previously, at noon on September 20, on the way home from school, a group of male students from Tan Ky High School, including: Nguyen Van The Anh, class 10A3; Hoang Van Kien, class 10A3; Tran Doan Anh Duc, class 12C2; Pham Manh Khoi, class 10D6; Nguyen Cong Thanh, class 10A2 and Nguyen Van Phong, class 12C2, discovered a section of road in block 1, Tan Ky town, deeply flooded with fast-flowing water.

Because the road had just been flooded, the local authorities had not yet had time to set up barriers and put up warning signs, so many people and vehicles still passed through.

At that time, it was still raining heavily, the group of male students stopped and helped people cross the flooded road safely. Among them, 2 people were swept away by floodwaters and were rescued by the students in time.

Pham Manh Khoi shared: "At that time, an adult was riding a motorbike and was swept away by the water. This person fell into the sewer. We all came together to help and pulled him up safely.

After that, we helped people push their carts through the flooded road. People also informed the authorities to set up barriers, prohibiting people and vehicles from passing through."

For nearly 2 hours, a group of students from Tan Ky High School helped many people safely cross the flooded road. The image of students standing in the rain, helping people in the flood received many compliments.
