According to plan, U17 Vietnam will practice at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ) before going to Japan for training from November 5.
Here, the team is scheduled to play three friendly matches against suitable opponents arranged by the Japan Football Association.
On November 16, coach Cristiano Roland and his team returned home to complete the final preparations for the 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers.
The key players selected by coach Cristiano Roland in this gathering are still the same faces that participated in the gathering last May, competing in the international tournament CFA Team China 2025, notably striker Nguyen Van Duong and midfielder Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc.
According to the draw results, U17 Vietnam is in group C with Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Macau (China) and the Northern Mariana Islands.
The matches in Group C will be held at two stadiums: Vietnam Youth Football Training Center and PVF Youth Football Training Center ( Hung Yen ) from November 22 to 30, 2025.
The 2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers have 38 participating teams, divided into 7 groups (3 groups with 6 teams, 4 groups with 5 teams), the top 7 teams in each group qualify for the final round.
The teams that have received wildcards include host Qatar and the eight teams that have reached the quarter-finals of the 2025 AFC U17 Championship: Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, North Korea, Tajikistan, Japan, UAE and Indonesia.
The finals will be held in Saudi Arabia in May 2026, with the top 8 teams representing Asia at the 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup.
The AFC's decision to grant VFF the right to host the group stage brings an important advantage to U17 Vietnam in the goal of winning a ticket to the final round, while also aiming to compete for a spot at the 2026 FIFA U17 World Cup.
