The Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to a report proposing solutions to promote growth in energy, processing and manufacturing.

On October 4, Mr. Phan Tan Canh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session to listen to a report on proposed solutions to support and promote growth in energy, processing and manufacturing in the province. Attending the meeting were relevant departments, agencies and enterprises.

According to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade, in recent times, the Department has focused on directing the acceleration of renewable energy projects after the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the price framework for transitional solar and wind power plants, and has put into operation transitional energy projects with a capacity of 405 MW, creating a new capacity of about 247 million kWh, raising electricity output in the third quarter of 2023 to 1,931 million kWh, up 19.1% over the same period, creating an added value of 771 billion VND, up 29.73%, contributing to the overall growth of 2.76% GRDP. Regarding the processing and manufacturing industry, the industry has also implemented many solutions to support and remove difficulties for businesses. Some key industrial products have recovered and grown significantly in the third quarter, such as: Cement increased by 23.9%, biofertilizer increased by 47.9%, Granite increased by 29.3%, construction stone increased by 15%, aloe vera increased by 13.6%... As a result, the added value of the industrial sector in the third quarter is estimated at 1,194.89 billion VND, a very high growth rate of 25.9%, contributing to an increase of 3.75% of GRDP; in which, the energy industry increased by 29.7%, exceeding the set plan, contributing to an increase of 2.76% of GRDP; the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 6.87%, contributing to an increase of 0.27% of GRDP.

At the meeting, representatives of enterprises discussed and presented difficulties and problems in the production and business process. Departments and branches also answered and shared questions and issues related to their units with enterprises. At the same time, they proposed solutions and scenarios to create favorable conditions for enterprises to develop and strive for growth in industrial sectors in the fourth quarter according to the set plan.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments and branches to continue to grasp the business situation of enterprises, monitor and remove difficulties and obstacles of enterprises in related fields, in order to provide maximum support for enterprises to improve productivity and develop production. Enterprises need to coordinate and accompany departments and branches to proactively send documents to have a basis for resolution. Comments beyond the authority of departments and branches will be compiled and sent to the Provincial People's Committee for resolution to promote investment and development of the energy industry and the processing and manufacturing industry to achieve the set targets by the end of the year.
