On September 8, Vingroup Corporation announced that it would file a civil lawsuit, report to the authorities and send documents to embassies about 68 domestic and foreign organizations and individuals posting false information about the Corporation on the internet.

Commenting on this, Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, said that he supports Vingroup's lawsuit. Mr. Le Quang Tu Do also expressed his hope that not only Vingroup but also other organizations and individuals should use more channels of lawsuits, bringing cases to court to protect their legitimate rights, honor and reputation because that is a way of behaving that is both in accordance with regulations and in line with the civilized trend of the times.

"The Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information has received a request from Vingroup when the Group sued 68 organizations and individuals. We will consider based on current regulations to clarify the content related to false information mentioned by Vingroup. At the same time, we are also working with cross-border platforms such as Meta, YouTube, TikTok... to handle illegal content," Mr. Le Quang Tu Do added.

The Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information also emphasized that organizations and individuals who take advantage of social networks and cyberspace to spread fake news and false information to defame the honor and reputation of organizations and individuals are violating the law.

According to current regulations of Vietnamese law, these acts are strictly prohibited and have strong sanctions, including criminal measures.

Previously, Vingroup's press release stated that Vingroup's determination to fight against acts of distortion, fabrication, and intentional manipulation of public opinion is not only to protect the legitimate rights of businesses but also for the benefit of society as well as the dignity of the law.

Accordingly, 68 organizations and individuals were sued and reported to be account holders of information pages and personal pages that distorted and provided false information about Vingroup; fabricated information about the group's Chairman - Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong and a number of other senior leaders of the group on social networking platforms such as Tiktok, Facebook, Youtube...

Vingroup Corporation said that the false information focused on four main topics, including: The group's financial situation; Product quality and origin; Legal issues regarding products; and Personal information of leaders.

Currently, Vingroup has collected full information and made records of the violations committed by 68 subjects as authentic evidence. At the same time, the Group will initiate civil lawsuits or report to competent authorities in accordance with legal procedures in Vietnam.

Vingroup is also working with domestic and international lawyers to file a lawsuit in accordance with the laws of the relevant country.

At the same time, Vingroup sent notices to foreign embassies in Vietnam and Vietnamese embassies in countries where citizens who own the violating accounts are residing to protect the legitimate interests of the business.
