The exact name of this scary pass is Me Pja, but locals also call it Me Pia for convenience. According to locals, Me Pia Pass has existed since the French period, and was formerly a packhorse trail about 40 cm wide, and even narrower in some places. It was not until 2009 that construction began on the pass and was completed in 2011. Now, the pass is more open, with a width of about 5m. According to many people, this is the most dangerous route in the Northeast region. The most ideal time for you to visit this " most terrifying pass in Vietnam " is probably from October to May next year, because this is the dry season, so it is convenient for conquering and exploring . From June to September, this place enters the rainy season, the pass is extremely dangerous, you should limit conquering Me Pia pass at this time. The challenging beauty of Me Pia Pass has made it famous, attracting many backpackers who want to explore this " scariest pass in Vietnam ". The pass winds with 14 winding, zigzag and spectacular levels. To reach the highest point to see the whole view of the 14 arcs of Me Pia Pass, you have to trek along the mountainside to the top for about 1 hour. Therefore, you should bring drinking water and some snacks to give yourself more energy. According to the experience of many previous backpackers, at the top of the pass there is a house selling drinks for visitors to stop. The owner of the shop is very kind, she often guides them to go up to the panoramic view point and take pictures. Currently, because she is old, she is no longer here. Because there is no one to look after the shop, she hired people to put up very specific signs for tourists to visit on their own. After climbing the mountain, you will be overwhelmed by the beauty of the pass right before your eyes, the winding curves are so skillful that they look like stairs to the sky. It should be noted that: Due to the rugged terrain of the high mountains, all roads at Deo Me Pia are very difficult to travel, only for "silk" drivers. So if you are not sure about your backpacking ability, do not drive up here yourself, it can be dangerous for you.
