On the morning of March 4, VFF and Vinmec Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center had a medical examination and professional consultation on the injury status of Xuan Son and Tan Tai, and at the same time evaluated the post-surgery recovery process of these two players in order to have highly effective therapy in the next treatment phase.

According to the assessment, Xuan Son's current condition is very positive. This striker has the ability to move gently and actively recover 2 sessions/day with the amount of exercises to maintain weight, muscle strength, and stimulate rapid bone healing.

Meanwhile, Tan Tai was also able to move and practice rehabilitation without the help of crutches. However, for injuries related to ligaments, the recovery process will be more difficult than for fractures and requires a comprehensive solution, closely monitored during and after surgery.

According to the plan, striker Nguyen Xuan Son will continue his rehabilitation treatment, with exercises designed to be similar to those at the club. The weight of the weights will be gradually increased, in accordance with the recovery progress, ensuring the maintenance of muscle strength throughout the treatment period, while creating a solid foundation for a stronger return after injury.

Regarding Tan Tai, VFF agrees with Binh Duong Club's opinion on respecting the player's personal wishes to choose a medical facility for treatment and recovery in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Tan Tai's recovery process will also be constantly updated to have the most timely and optimal solution.

When will Xuan Son return?

Xuan Son is expected to complete all four stages of his injury treatment in September this year. He could return in mid- or late September to join Nam Dinh FC in kicking off the 2025-2026 season.

At the same time, if the recovery process helps Xuan Son regain his feeling of playing football, the player born in 1997 can return to the Vietnam national team's training session in September. This is a training session according to the FIFA Days schedule in which coach Kim Sang-sik and his team plan to play friendly matches, because there is no schedule for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Xuan Son will return to the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers in October, when the Vietnamese team will have two matches against Nepal at home and away (matches 3 and 4). The Brazilian-born striker will bring a valuable addition to the Vietnamese team's attack.
