For the digital future of every citizen

Issuing electronic identification accounts to individuals and organizations is identified as one of the key and urgent tasks in building a digital government. To achieve the above goal, Lam Dong Provincial Police launched a 60-day and night peak period to accelerate progress, towards the goal of "each citizen - a digital identity", creating a solid foundation for the development of the digital economy and digital society in the locality.

The whole political system got involved

During this peak, the Provincial Police will mobilize the synchronous participation of the entire grassroots political system with the motto of "going to every alley, knocking on every door, checking every person". The police force of communes, wards, and special zones will play a core role, coordinating with the community digital technology team and local socio-political organizations to review the list, plan propaganda, mobilize and directly support people to register.

The police force of wards and communes promoted the highest sense of responsibility, made efforts, was creative, stayed close to the locality, overcame difficulties, and worked with the motto of "clear people, clear work, clear progress, clear results, clear responsibilities", ensuring progress and quality. Especially in the collection and processing of level 2 electronic identification records for citizens.

Every day, many people come to the One-Stop Department of the Provincial Police to carry out procedures for citizen identification.

With the efforts of the entire political system, by September 17, the entire Lam Dong province had collected level 2 identification accounts for 2,310,157/2,935,139 citizens over 14 years old, reaching a rate of 78.71%. Regarding the results of electronic identification of agencies, organizations, enterprises and cooperatives, the entire province had collected 15,666/26,658, reaching a rate of 61.06%.

Not only stopping at receiving documents at the police headquarters 24/7, the working groups also go to the homes of the elderly, sick, lonely, and those with difficulty in moving. The spirit of "leaving no one behind" is put first, ensuring that all citizens have the opportunity to access and own a digital identity. At the same time, security and information safety are focused on. Wards and communes must proactively plan to protect systems and equipment, and have solutions to respond when incidents occur. Propaganda work is also strongly enhanced through newspapers, radio, television and social networks, helping people understand the practical benefits of electronic identification.

Recently, the issuance of electronic identification accounts for agencies, organizations and citizens in Lam Dong province has achieved some encouraging results. In order for the peak period to be effective and meet the requirements, the Provincial Police will direct the police forces of the communes to do a good job of making lists, coordinating with the community digital technology team, the grassroots security system to mobilize and propagate for people to cooperate in registering and activating the electronic identification account.

Telecommunications businesses join hands to spread digital transformation to every citizen

An important highlight is the cooperation of telecommunications enterprises. The provincial police have worked with Viettel, MobiFone, and Vinaphone to coordinate the provision and verification of genuine SIM cards for people. In particular, for difficult cases, the province will mobilize and give smartphones and genuine SIM cards, ensuring the necessary conditions to perform level 2 identification and use utilities on the VNeID application.

During the 60-day peak period, MobiFone Lam Dong province accompanied the Provincial Police at 55 citizen identification card issuance points and 124 communes, wards and special zones. MobiFone's staff and youth union members directly supported people in registering their own SIM cards, installing and integrating level 2 electronic identification accounts on the VNeID application.

MobiFone also supports free SIM cards and packages for grassroots security forces and community digital technology teams, helping communication and Internet access take place smoothly, quickly and safely. This is a practical companion, creating conditions for frontline forces to carry out tasks more conveniently. Not only providing technical support, MobiFone also promotes propaganda work in many forms: standees, leaflets, charts and digital media on social networks emphasizing the outstanding benefits of VNeID level 2 accounts.

In addition to the local police system, people can also go directly to MobiFone stores to get instructions on registering their own SIM cards, serving VNeID integration. In the near future, the Company also plans to deploy mobile booths, focusing on supporting students - a young, dynamic group that can easily access and spread digital transformation in the community.

"Currently, MobiFone also provides network information security service packages such as MobiSafe - helping people protect devices, data, prevent online fraud, and support parents in controlling their children's access. For agencies and businesses, MobiFone provides specialized security solutions, anti-malware, anti-network attacks, along with training programs and information security drills," said Mr. Le Tai, Director of MobiFone Company in Lam Dong province.

It can be seen that the 60-day campaign is not simply an administrative campaign, but also a commitment of Lam Dong to the future. When each citizen has a digital identity, all administrative procedures will be streamlined with just one touch on the phone. People save time, costs, and limit negativity. State agencies manage more effectively and transparently. Businesses have convenience in transactions, expanding a modern and safe business environment.

More importantly, level 2 electronic identification also creates a “digital shield” to help improve security, prevent fraud and protect people’s rights in cyberspace. This is a solid foundation for Lam Dong to successfully implement the Government’s Project 06 on developing population data, electronic identification and authentication, serving national digital transformation in the 2022-2025 period, with a vision to 2030.
