Vietnam – affirming its role as host through AMMS-8

VHO - From October 13 to 17, the 8th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports (AMMS-8) and related conferences will take place in Hanoi with the participation of nearly 200 international and domestic delegates.

The guests included sports leaders from ASEAN countries and Timor Leste, senior ASEAN sports officials and representatives from many international cooperation organizations and agencies.

On the Vietnamese side, the conference will be attended by leaders of the Government , the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and other ministries and branches that will directly participate.

As the host country, Vietnam has spent months carefully preparing for the event, from conference infrastructure, logistics to reception, security and promotion plans. Organizing AMMS-8 is not only a responsibility within the ASEAN sports cooperation mechanism, but also an important opportunity to affirm its international position and prestige.

This is an opportunity for regional and international friends to better perceive a stable, hospitable Vietnam, ready to contribute to common development.

AMMS-8 also brings practical benefits to Vietnamese sports. Through discussions and exchanges, we have the opportunity to access management experience and advanced development models from other countries, expanding cooperation in many fields such as sports science, physical education, school sports or sports for people with disabilities.

In particular, the initiative to establish an ASEAN High Performance Sports Center, if realized, will help Vietnamese athletes and coaches have more training and competition environments at the regional level, thereby improving their professional capacity and integration ability.

With its reputation affirmed through many major international events, the successful organization of AMMS-8 will be a stepping stone for Vietnam to be more confident in hosting world-class tournaments and conferences in the future.

More importantly, the event also contributes to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people as friendly, hospitable and rich in cultural identity to international friends, while strengthening friendship and enhancing mutual understanding within the ASEAN community.

After this conference, Vietnam is expected to continue to promote its coordinating and leading role in many new sports cooperation initiatives.

The success of AMMS-8 will contribute to strengthening the image of a dynamic, responsible, proactively integrating Vietnam, while affirming that sports is an effective bridge in foreign relations and regional connectivity.
