As a country with a comprehensive strategic partnership with South Korea, Vietnam is closely following the current developments in South Korea. “We believe that South Korea will soon stabilize the situation and continue to develop strongly in the coming time,” Ms. Pham Thu Hang emphasized. Regarding the Vietnamese community in South Korea, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that according to information from the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea, the recent developments in South Korea have not yet affected the lives of the Vietnamese community in South Korea. After receiving information related to the current situation in South Korea, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea to urgently monitor related developments and immediately contact local authorities and Vietnamese associations in South Korea to grasp the situation of citizens living, working and studying in South Korea. At the same time, the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea also immediately coordinated closely with the Vietnamese community and advised citizens to comply with the regulations and instructions of the host country, avoid large gatherings and keep in contact with the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea.
The Spokesperson once again affirmed that, up to now, the Vietnamese community in Korea is still living, working and studying normally. “In the spirit of serving the people and considering citizen protection as one of the top priorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we continue to closely monitor the situation with the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea and are ready to take necessary citizen protection measures,” said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang.
