Honoring 56 agricultural scientists

Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union Luong Quoc Doan has just signed a decision to honor 56 outstanding faces in the 5th “Farmer Scientists” program - 2024, scheduled to take place in Hanoi on October 3. These are scientists, inventors and farmers with many important inventions and innovations in the agricultural sector.

According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, among the 56 outstanding faces honored this year is Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa, Head of the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Agriculture and Forestry (Hue University). She has completed 35 research topics at home and abroad, including international cooperation projects and ministerial-level topics. Her notable research includes: integrated management of soil, water and crops on sandy coastal soil in the South Central region; research on organic fertilizer production from agricultural by-products. Mr. Vo Van Ut, an innovative farmer from Long An province, was also honored for his useful inventions for agricultural production, such as a corn seeder and a peanut thresher. His innovations help save significantly on labor costs and increase production efficiency.
