Unleashing Vietnam's strength
In 2024, the theme of the Vietnam Glory Program is "20 years of unleashing Vietnam's strength", but it can be seen that, since its inception in 2004 until now, "unleashing strength" has always been the basis and inspiration for the Program to search for and discover typical examples throughout the country.
The Vietnam Glory Program was initiated in 2004 - in the context of the whole country entering the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization. At that time, the requirement was to honor and encourage good people and good deeds, especially in the working class and the laboring class - the important subjects of the country's development. With the role of representing and caring for union members and workers and the responsibility of making an important contribution to the development of enterprises and the country, the Trade Union decided to build a program and a title in which the honored collectives and individuals not only feel proud, but also be an inspirational factor to continue to have more outstanding collectives and individuals in society, regardless of their profession or position.
Therefore, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor assigned the Labor Newspaper to implement the Program. The first Vietnam Glory Program was launched on May 1, 2004 - International Labor Day with many meanings for cadres, workers and employees nationwide. The main purpose of the program is to honor collectives and individuals who are labor heroes, heroes of the armed forces, brave and typical examples with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement. The Vietnam Glory Program in 2004 honored 20 typical collectives and individuals in various fields of social life. After that, the Program was organized annually.
Since Vietnam Glory was initiated in 2004, by 2025, a total of 313 groups and individuals have been honored in the annual Vietnam Glory programs.
Perseverance for workers
Through 20 honoring periods, the Vietnam Glory Program not only recognizes achievements, but also carries profound spiritual meaning. The program creates a sacred space for the country to express gratitude to researchers, managers, and workers in many different fields who have silently contributed, overcome difficulties to contribute with their hands, minds, and hearts.
In particular, many of the honored characters are ordinary workers such as workers, teachers in mountainous areas, frontline doctors, scientists , soldiers in the border islands... but have great achievements. They are vivid proof of the spirit of "labor is glorious", a source of inspiration for the young generation and the whole society in terms of will, determination, responsibility and patriotism.
The 21-year journey of the Vietnam Glory Program also affirms the 20-year journey of the Trade Union organization, persistently discovering, honoring, and replicating advanced models, contributing significantly to nurturing and promoting patriotic emulation movements, motivating civil servants, public employees, and workers nationwide to be creative, devote themselves, and unite to create Vietnamese strength, affirming the Vietnamese spirit, so that Vietnam can stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers.
That perseverance is built on the spirit of all for the workers, creating for workers a glorious goal to strive for, to reach. That is also the spirit that from the very first organization, the voting criteria were put forth including: Honoring typical individuals and collectives with outstanding achievements in labor, production, research, national defense, education , health, science and technology...; Arousing national pride, belief in revolutionary ideals, building the desire to contribute in each citizen; Contributing to building a beautiful image of Vietnamese workers in the new era, affirming the position and role of the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
During the implementation process, the Vietnam Glory Program also received the direction and coordination of many departments, branches and organizations. In particular, the coordination in introducing and voting for collectives and individuals was carried out by the Central Emulation and Commendation Committee, the Central Propaganda Department and many ministries and branches.
In his speech at the 20th Vietnam Glory Program in 2024, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor affirmed: "The honored collectives and individuals are continuing to promote their titles and achievements, always making every effort, dedicating their efforts, intelligence, and enthusiasm to serve the Fatherland, serve the people, spread patriotism, national spirit, and the aspiration to build a strong Vietnam, with prosperous and happy people."
With vitality, creative spirit and importance organized from the needs of the staff, workers and employees, the Vietnam Glory Program has become a national spiritual symbol - where Vietnamese people who live decently, work responsibly, dare to dream and dare to contribute can shine.

About the Program
The Vietnam Glory 2025 program with the theme "Pride and Aspiration" was held on June 22, 2025 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, Hanoi.
Vietnam Glory is a special cultural and political event honoring the national spirit, love for the Fatherland, Heroes; typical advanced examples, businesses and entrepreneurs with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement, in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The Vietnam Glory Program was first held on May 1, 2004, and has been held annually since then.
The Glory of Vietnam has been supported and welcomed by all classes of people. The program was directed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and assigned to Lao Dong Newspaper to directly organize and implement. The program received effective coordination from the Central Emulation and Commendation Committee, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee and ministries and branches.
