Speaking to reporters of Hanoi Moi Newspaper tonight, July 19, a representative of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) said that VNPT has asked units in the storm-affected areas to deploy response plans.

Proactively check and review telecommunications network infrastructure; fully prepare materials, fuel, backup equipment, etc. to be ready to respond to situations.

Units proactively grasp and promptly deploy information requests for public networks and specialized networks to serve the direction and operation of government levels; be ready to coordinate and support the Central Post Office to ensure information serving the direction and operation of natural disaster response for working groups of the Government and ministries; be ready with plans for roaming mobile services between network operators; be ready to operate and ensure communication on the VSAT-IP network belonging to the specialized information network for natural disaster prevention and control; be ready to deploy VSAT transmission lines for mobile broadcasting vehicles when required.

MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation also said that this afternoon, MobiFone team is ready to be on duty 24/7, preparing to respond and rescue incidents caused by the storm.

MobiFone network technical units in storm-affected areas follow the "4 on-site" principles (on-site command - on-site forces - on-site means and materials - on-site logistics) and "3 readiness" (proactive prevention - timely response - urgent and effective recovery).

MobiFone has inspected the system, network, infrastructure, and reviewed the overall network status in areas at risk of being affected by natural disasters, especially coastal provinces and mountainous areas prone to landslides.
