At the preliminary round of Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 held on August 11, contestant Nguyen Thi Loan from Tuyen Quang attracted attention with an impressive martial arts performance.

Nguyen Thi Loan is a boxer who has competed for the Vietnam national team for 6 years. She shared that the reason for participating in Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 was because she was often commented on her masculine appearance, so she wanted to find her inner femininity while still maintaining the strong features of an athlete.

In the preliminary round, when asked about the clip of a man abusing a woman in an apartment building that caused outrage, Nguyen Thi Loan said that if she witnessed violence in public, she would call the police first, then find out the cause to effectively prevent it. When the judges assumed she was the victim in the clip, Loan affirmed that practicing martial arts was only to improve her health and achieve results for the team "not to fight in the street".

Loan further analyzed the situation, if there were no people around, she would intervene to avoid serious casualties. If there were people around, she would call for support.

She shared that fighters often avoid attacks and then use arm and leg locking techniques to disable their opponents instead of attacking directly.
