VPF is waiting for specialized vehicle inspection, V-League next season will definitely have VAR

" The VAR car is a converted car, after conversion it must be inspected before it can be operated, run on the road and used. We are still on schedule. If everything goes well, VAR can be used as planned at the end of August, in the final matches of the 2023 season. In the V-League 2023-2024, VAR will definitely be used throughout the season, " said Mr. Tran Anh Tu, General Director of Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF).

In recent days, the third VAR referee training course was held in Hanoi . Before that, all the final equipment to operate VAR technology was imported and installed on the mobile VAR vehicle. The VAR vehicle in Vietnam is a 16-seat passenger vehicle, converted by removing all the seats and installing other equipment and seats to suit the usage function.

The mobile VAR vehicle needs to be inspected.

Therefore, according to the procedure, these VAR vehicles need to be inspected to be licensed to operate. To save costs, VPF decided to use mobile VAR vehicles and VAR is applied in certain matches, depending on the professional nature of each round.

On the morning of June 8, a total of 18 Vietnamese referees participated in the training and were divided into 4 operating groups. The first Vietnamese referees practiced VAR technology based on real-life situations on the field. U17 Hanoi FC was chosen as the "blue team" to simulate real-life situations.

Mr. Vo Minh Tri is the person who directs the young players to execute the situations according to the requirements. In the first operation team, the players of U17 Hanoi FC encountered many difficulties and at many times could not adapt to the requirements.

On the morning of June 14, a 90-minute match with the participation of the Hanoi FC youth team was held at Hang Day Stadium. This was an unofficial match, organized to serve the training process of referees using VAR technology and procedures, jointly organized by VPF and VFF with the supervision of FIFA.

This is the first time Vietnamese referees have directly participated and practiced using VAR technology in a full-length real match. In the process of training referees to use VAR technology, this is stage 3c with the most difficult team. Only when referees meet the requirements and are licensed can VAR technology be applied in V-League.
