Previously, the Dak Lak Department of Health 's inspection team inspected the hospital's Department of Nephrology and Urology and discovered that the department's laser lithotripsy machine had been broken since 2023. However, from 2023 to present, the medical records of the Central Highlands General Hospital still declare that patients have been treated with laser lithotripsy.

According to the report of the Dak Lak Department of Health, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoang, Head of the Department of Nephrology and Urology, explained that from May 2024 to November 2024, another surgical method was applied to operate on the patient and the medical record stated that it was a laser lithotripsy endoscopic service. When performing the procedure, Mr. Hoang reported to the hospital's Board of Directors.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Giap, Director of the Central Highlands General Hospital, informed about the incident.

However, Dr. Nguyen Dang Giap, Director of the Central Highlands General Hospital, said that the laser lithotripsy machine was broken but still generated medical records for related technical services to pay for, which was completely wrong. Dr. Hoang's statement that he had reported to the hospital's Board of Directors before performing the procedure was baseless.

At the meeting with the press, the reporter asked, "What method has the hospital applied to remove stones for patients?". Doctor Nguyen Dang Giap said that in cases of small stones, doctors use the method of removing stones. In cases of large stones that cannot be removed, doctors insert catheters to avoid pain for the patient.

“We have formed a team to review and contact 255 patients who came to the hospital to check whether they still have stones or not. Once we have the results, we will inform the press,” Dr. Giap informed.

Mr. Nay Phi La, Director of Dak Lak Department of Health, said that he had reported to the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee, and transferred the case file to the police agency to investigate and examine signs of violations at the Central Highlands General Hospital.
