The working delegation included representatives of the Park Management Board, leaders of departments and units in the entire Park such as: Department of Science and International Cooperation; Department of Administrative Organization; Department of Planning and Finance; Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Organisms; Center for Environmental Education and Services;
The delegation also included leaders of Yen Tri Commune People's Committee, Yen Tri Commune community, Hoa Binh Province; WWF Hanoi Office; VFBC Project Management Board and a number of officers working at units throughout the Park.
The program is within the framework of the Vietnam Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation (VFBC) project approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , aiming to carry out activities to develop production and business of high-value non-timber forest products, helping to develop the economy of the buffer zone community, thereby reducing pressure on natural resources, contributing to sustainable forest development and management.
The delegation had a working session with the Ba Vi National Park Management Board. Leaders of the two units discussed, exchanged and shared about research and support for the development of medicinal plants for the community in the buffer zone communes of Ba Vi National Park, visited the medicinal plant gene conservation model of Ba Vi National Park; surveyed and exchanged medicinal plant planting models under the forest canopy; visited the Cordyceps mushroom farming and growing model of Ba Vi National Park.
Also in the working content in Ba Vi, the Delegation directly worked and met and discussed with the Board of Directors and people in the villages: Hop Nhat, Yen Son, Hop Son, Ba Vi district. The working content of the Delegation revolved around issues of developing medicinal plants in the community, visiting medicinal plant growing models and consulting experiences in preliminary processing of medicinal plants, processing medicinal plants, packaging and preservation and experience in managing and maintaining the activities of linking groups in the villages and hamlets in the buffer zone.
Through the working trip, with many contents implemented, the Board of Directors and the working delegation of Cuc Phuong National Park said that the trip was very successful, with many results obtained from the exchanges, experiences and knowledge from the practice learned and accumulated from the Management Board of Ba Vi National Park and the communities of the buffer zone villages in Ba Vi.
With the results obtained from the working trip, the Board of Directors of Cuc Phuong National Park hopes to soon apply it in Cuc Phuong, to promote the development of production and business of high-value non-timber forest products, helping to develop the economy of the buffer zone community - a sustainable solution to help preserve intact natural resources in national parks and protected areas across the country.
