Kim Dong Commune urgently evacuates people from areas at risk of landslides - Cao Bang Electronic Newspaper

Due to the complicated developments of storm No. 9 (super storm Ragasa) along with heavy rains that have lasted since the beginning of the year, large cracks have appeared under the foundations of some households in Khuoi Linh hamlet, Kim Dong commune, posing a high risk of landslides. The local government has urgently evacuated households to safe places and deployed forces on duty 24/7.

Kim Dong commune leaders and working group came to survey the situation in areas at high risk of landslides.

Immediately after the discovery, Kim Dong commune established a 14-person working group including the commune police and the hamlet Fatherland Front , directly supporting 5 households with 20 people to move their belongings and evacuate to the hamlet cultural house to ensure safety.

Leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Kim Dong commune were directly present at the scene to survey the situation, direct response work, and visit and encourage evacuated households as well as forces participating in storm response.

Leaders of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Kim Dong commune gave gifts to encourage displaced households.

The leaders of the Commune Party Committee requested the Commune Police and Military Command to review all facilities and personnel, and always be ready to respond; mobilize 100% of the force and prepare all necessary means and equipment. At the same time, the departments, branches, and hamlet organizations regularly monitor the situation, inspect key points and areas at risk of landslides; strengthen propaganda and mobilize households along rivers, streams, and areas prone to flash floods to proactively evacuate people and property to safety.

The proactive and timely intervention of the Party Committee and the Kim Dong Commune Government not only contributed to limiting the damage caused by storms and floods but also created trust and peace of mind for the people. This is also an important basis for the commune to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity and community responsibility in natural disaster prevention and control, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
