Xuyen Moc Commune (HCMC): Exploiting forest and sea potentials to develop tourism

On the morning of July 18, Working Group No. 5 of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, led by Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, worked with leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Xuyen Moc commune on the organization and operation of the grassroots government apparatus.

Working Group No. 5 of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council worked with leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Xuyen Moc commune.

Reporting to the working delegation, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Xuyen Moc Commune Nguyen Hoang Anh Dat said that Xuyen Moc Commune was established on the basis of merging 3 communes of Xuyen Moc, Bong Trang and Bung Rieng. Currently, the People's Council of the Commune has 78 delegates, of which the Standing Committee of the People's Council has 4 members and at the first session, 7 important resolutions were passed.

Also at the meeting, Chairman of the People's Committee of Xuyen Moc Commune Chu Thi Thanh Phong reported that the results of the People's Committee's activities since its establishment have been very stable, focusing on arranging the best equipment and machinery to serve people in performing administrative procedures. The Public Administration Service Center of the commune received 203 records, of which 178 records were resolved before and on time, with no overdue records.

Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong surveyed the Public Administration Service Center of Xuyen Moc commune.

Currently, the commune is facing some difficulties such as: the area of ​​the headquarters is still small, built a long time ago; equipment is heavily depreciated; some low-configuration equipment does not meet work requirements and some other issues related to civil status and land judicial data. Regarding human resources, the People's Committee of the commune proposed that the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City continue to support training, fostering skills in applying information technology and digital transformation for officials. The leader of the People's Committee of Xuyen Moc commune also expressed his joy that in the near future, the People's Committee of the commune will receive an investment of 18 billion VND to upgrade and repair the headquarters campus.

Participating in giving opinions on the socio -economic development direction of Xuyen Moc commune in the coming time, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City Pham Thanh Chung suggested that the commune has both forest and sea, so the locality needs to exploit the available potentials to the maximum to develop tourism in the direction of green - blue and ecology.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the leaders and staff of Xuyen Moc commune. As one of the communes far from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, the socio-economic situation is still difficult, the infrastructure is not adequate, and the staffing level is still lacking, so he hopes that the commune will try to overcome the difficulties to serve the people better. At the same time, the commune needs to implement social security policies with the spirit of not leaving any gaps or interruptions, especially on the upcoming July 27th.
