MU and Arsenal, two candidates for the 2023/24 Carabao Cup championship, had to leave the tournament after defeats in the fourth round.

MU became the former champion of the English League Cup after losing to Newcastle at Old Trafford, while Arsenal also bitterly stopped playing early.
The victory over MU has brought coach Eddie Howe's team straight to the quarter-finals of the English League Cup 2023/24 season. This result also helped Newcastle successfully "avenge" the loss to MU in the final of this tournament last year.
Along with MU, Arsenal also had to bitterly stop playing early when they lost 1-3 in their away match at West Ham's field.
Arsenal is the team that is rated higher because they are in better form with 3 wins in the last 4 matches, while West Ham have lost 3 consecutive matches.
However, things in this match were completely opposite when West Ham was the team that took the initiative against Arsenal and scored an early goal after Ben White's own goal in the 16th minute.
Not stopping there, in the second half, West Ham continuously made Arsenal's net shake after shots from Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen to lead 3-0 after 60 minutes of play.
Letting their opponents take the lead, Arsenal fought back in the remaining time but it wasn't until the 90+6 minute that they got a consolation goal from Martin Odegaard.
This defeat forced the Gunners to sadly say goodbye to their dream of conquering the League Cup this season.
In contrast to MU and Arsenal, teams playing in the Premier League such as Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton and Fulham all won the right to enter the quarter-finals.
Liverpool struggled to a 2-1 win over AFC Bournemouth, with striker Darwin Nunez proving the hero with a 70th-minute goal to send the Reds into the quarter-finals.
Chelsea also booked their place in the quarter-finals after a comfortable 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers thanks to goals from Benoit Badiashile and Raheem Sterling.
Meanwhile, Everton had an easy 3-0 win over Burnley, while Fulham also had no difficulty defeating Ipswich Town 3-1.
Immediately after the end of round 4, the English League Cup organizing committee conducted the draw to divide the quarter-final matches.
According to the draw results, the quarter-finals promise to be very exciting with matches considered to be quite balanced.
Chelsea will have to face Newcastle, the team that is a "nemesis" when it successively eliminated Man City and turned MU into a former champion.
Liverpool will face West Ham. Everton and Fulham will go head-to-head for a place in the next round, while Port Vale will face Middlesbrough.
