Determining the cause of the accident on La Son highway

The Traffic Safety Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a quick report on a serious traffic accident on the La Son - Tuy Loan expressway in Hoa Bac commune, Hoa Vang district.

Mr. Khuat Viet Hung, Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee, was present at the hospital to visit and encourage the victims of the accident.

At 0:30 a.m. on January 23, at Km36+400 of the La Son - Tuy Loan highway, driver Phuong Thanh Tung (born in 1988, residing in village 1B, Cu Ni commune, Eaka district, Dak Lak province) was driving a 45-seat passenger car with license plate 47B - 010.67 on the Dak Lak - Hai Duong route, when he suddenly plunged into a ravine.

The accident resulted in 2 deaths, 20 injuries, and severe damage to the car. The Hoa Vang District Police Department determined that the driver tested negative for drugs and alcohol. The initial cause was determined to be rain and fog, which limited visibility and the driver became drowsy, leading to loss of control.

After the traffic accident occurred, the leaders of the Traffic Police Department and the Hoa Nhon Gate Traffic Police Station coordinated to direct traffic flow, ensuring smooth and safe traffic. Local departments and branches also promptly visited the hospital to visit and encourage the victims; supported the families of the deceased with 5 million VND and the injured with 2 million VND.
