The motorbike fire occurred at 2:26 p.m. on December 3, inside the Saigon River Tunnel (also known as Thu Thiem Tunnel), Ho Chi Minh City.

When the car had gone more than 600m into the tunnel, it suddenly caught fire. The man quickly stopped and jumped out of the car.

In just a split second, red flames and black smoke enveloped the motorbike. The incident caused panic among many people and affected traffic through the tunnel.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Traffic Management Center said that as soon as the incident was discovered, the center's traffic rescue force quickly approached the scene to deploy fire fighting, rescue, and traffic lane separation measures.

At the same time, the center also notified Thu Thiem Ward Police, Cat Lai Traffic Police, and Ben Thanh Traffic Police to handle the situation.

At 2:28 p.m., just 2 minutes later, the rescue team arrived at the scene and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. 1 minute later, the fire was extinguished. Thu Thiem Ward Police and Ben Thanh Traffic Police handled the scene to allow traffic through the tunnel to return to normal.

The motorbike fire did not cause any injuries or damage to the structure.
