With the concept of “beauty from the inside out”, many modern housewives are changing the way they celebrate Tet. Instead of being busy in the kitchen from morning to night, they prioritize taking care of their physical and mental health, turning Tet into a truly relaxing time.

Enjoy Tet leisurely with online shopping and pre-ordered food trays

Choosing to shop online for Tet is not only because of attractive prices but also to avoid traffic jams, which is the common mentality of many consumers today.

Predicting that traffic jams would be even worse near Tet, Ms. Ngoc Nhien (living in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) decided to shop online early for Tet.

Instead of struggling to go out during Tet, Ms. Nhien chose to take advantage of her lunch break to order online and invite her colleagues to combine orders to get free shipping and enjoy additional incentives.

“Nowadays, supermarket websites have everything, with full range of products and promotions that are no different from buying directly, so I choose to buy online for convenience, to avoid having to queue up to pay and jostle for traffic,” Ms. Nhien shared.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (living in District 10) said that in recent years she has gradually switched from making her own ancestral offerings to ordering supermarket offerings.

“In the past, every time I prepared an offering tray, I had to wake up early to buy enough ingredients and cook frantically. The tray had to be full of traditional dishes such as boiled chicken, braised pork and eggs, banh chung, bitter melon soup, etc. If any dish was missing, I would feel uneasy, afraid of not being able to fulfill my duty to my ancestors,” said Ms. Hoa.

Now everything becomes easier when Ms. Hoa orders the offering tray at the supermarket, both easy and still maintaining the completeness. “For the past few years, I have ordered the offering tray at Co.opmart, every dish is fresh and delicious, the flavor is rich like homemade. My whole family is very satisfied,” Ms. Hoa shared.

Responding to the modern consumer shopping trend for Tet, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives ( Saigon Co.op ) said that from January 21, the Co.opmart and Co.opXtra systems in Ho Chi Minh City began accepting online orders for ancestral altars.

Accordingly, the traditional salty tray has boiled chicken, braised pork and eggs, banh chung, bitter melon soup, sticky rice and pickled onions. Meanwhile, the vegetarian tray includes dishes such as fried salted and lemongrass tofu, vegetarian spring rolls, vegetarian rice with lotus seeds, vegetarian stir-fried vermicelli, stir-fried bean paste with lemongrass and chili, etc.

This year, a representative of Saigon Co.op said that the supermarket has designed a fresh, pre-processed ancestral offering tray, including a whole chicken, marinated pork leg, stuffed bitter melon, grated snakehead fish, minced pork, salmon fillet, etc.

Customers can buy each dish individually or choose a package with attractive discounts of up to 20%. The dishes will be delivered from January 22 to January 28, 2025 (ie from the day of the Kitchen Gods' arrival to New Year's Eve), applicable in the Ho Chi Minh City area. The supermarket guarantees the dishes to be of guaranteed quality and rich in flavor, true to the Vietnamese Tet flavor.

Along with the ancestral altar, Co.opmart also promotes the exclusive Tet gift basket delivery service with the message "Connecting family ties - Tet is closer", accepting orders and delivering to recipients until January 28, 2025 (29th of Tet).

According to supermarket statistics, after just over a month of implementation, 10 million Tet gift baskets have been supplied to the market.

Notably, more than 70% of gift baskets are ordered from the Southern provinces and sent to the North. Currently, Co.opmart applies a 20% discount on all types of gift baskets, with special offers for high-value orders of 5 million VND or more.

Supermarkets "accelerate" to launch promotions

A representative of Saigon Co.op said that from now until Lunar New Year, the supermarket system will increase diverse promotional programs to serve the shopping needs of consumers nationwide.

Accordingly, within the framework of the program "Tet shopping tips", the supermarket is discounting popular Tet consumer products, with prices starting from only 7,000 VND.

Discounted items include soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, sausages, mandu, cheese sticks, peas, frozen potatoes, butter cookies, silk cashews and many other household products, subject to purchase invoice conditions…

For household products, the supermarket chain offers 35-50% discounts on Tet gifts such as glass/plastic candy boxes, glass plates, flower vases, tea sets, porcelain bowls/dining sets and gift items such as the snake-shaped teddy bear Phuc Loc Tai in the program "Brighten up Tet - Happiness and prosperity come".

Cleaning products are also discounted from 16 to 38%, helping consumers prepare a neat Tet space. Fresh agricultural products such as Vinh Chau shallots, Hai Duong garlic, CPV chicken wings, San Ha chicken thighs are applied with the same price of 25,000 VND or 46,800 VND.

The program “Full flavor of Tet – Always good price” introduces a series of products such as snack cakes, coconut jam, oolong tea, wine, beer of all kinds with preferential prices from 11,000 - 550,000 VND.

To serve consumers' Tet shopping needs, supermarkets also heavily discount fresh and processed foods, from basa fish, ground crab to fresh vegetables and fruits up to 20%.

Essential consumer goods such as Hao Hao instant noodles, Safoco vermicelli, Cosy biscuits, Nescafe coffee, imported fruits such as American red apples, Korean pears are also discounted by 15-20%, with prices ranging from only 14,800-124,000 VND.

Tet fashion products such as ao dai, women's dresses, pajamas, men's and women's clothing are discounted up to 40% or apply the buy 1 get 1 free program, with prices ranging from only 49,000 - 399,000 VND/product.

Especially from now until January 19, customers can bring old Lock&Lock plastic and household products to Co.opmart Ly Thuong Kiet, Xa Lo Ha Noi and Huynh Tan Phat supermarkets to exchange for new products. In addition, customers will receive discount vouchers of up to 50% from Lock&Lock, contributing to saving on shopping costs at the end of the year.
