Chairing and giving a speech at the August trade promotion conference with the Vietnamese trade office system abroad on the morning of September 9 in Hanoi, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that the economic growth target for 2025 is set at 8.3 - 8.5%, creating a foundation to strive for a double-digit growth rate from 2026. In the context of global economic fluctuations, broken supply chains, and increasing protectionist policies, the pressure on the industry and trade sector is enormous.
“Therefore, today’s conference is of special importance. We will exchange and discuss to find practical solutions to fulfill the goals assigned by the Party and the State.
In the context of implementing new tariff policies in the US and many other countries, the responsibility is increasingly heavy. With just over 3 months left until the end of the year, the whole industry must strive to achieve and exceed each work target of the country's average," said Minister Nguyen Hong Dien.
Pointing out the opportunities and challenges from the markets, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that the domestic market is gradually reaching its limit, there is not much room for growth left. Therefore, export must be considered a spearhead, not only to familiar markets but also to explore potential markets and new markets.
This conference has the theme of diversifying export markets and products; diversifying import sources to promote growth in import-export turnover by 2025.
At the event, representatives of trade agencies, businesses and associations will present difficulties and challenges in export activities, and scenarios for growth in import-export turnover in the last months of 2025. At the same time, propose solutions to diversify markets, export products, and import supply sources to promote growth in import-export turnover in 2025-2026.
