Overnight landslide handling, National Highway 7 in Nghe An

At noon on October 1, information from the Office of Highway Management II.2, Highway Management Area II (Vietnam Road Administration) said: By 8:40 a.m. the same day, the landslide points on National Highway 7 (QL7) had been cleared to traffic.

Traffic workers leveled rocks and soil to clear National Highway 7 at 0:28 a.m.

Previously, from the evening of September 30, there was heavy and prolonged rain in Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts ( Nghe An province).

As a result, from 11:30 p.m. on September 30, landslides occurred on Highway 7 at many points, causing traffic jams.

That very night, the Office of Highway Management II.2 directed maintenance units to mobilize machinery and human resources to clean up the road.

By 5:30 a.m. on October 1, the sections Km170+980, Km173+370, Km180+470, Km182+880, Km187+450, Km188+050 were open to traffic.

At Km186+100, a section was also opened to traffic by 8:40.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of road workers, by 8:40 this morning (October 1), the landslide sites were cleared.

Currently in Tuong Duong and Ky Son districts (Nghe An province) there is scattered light rain.

Road management units are on duty at key locations to promptly handle any situations that may arise.

It is known that National Highway 7 is one of the especially important national highways in Nghe An province connecting from National Highway 1 to Laos through Nam Can International Border Gate.
