Many valuable newspapers of important historical value are being displayed at the documentary exhibition "Autumn of independence and the desire for prosperity" organized by the National Library ( Hanoi ).

These were the newspapers Co Giai Phong, Vi Nuoc, Cuu Quoc, Doc Lap... established in the first half of the 1940s. This was a period of diverse and rich revolutionary journalism, clearly demonstrating the spirit of journalists as secretaries of the era.

Newspapers of this period were easy to read, both providing information about current events and carrying strong propaganda content. At the exhibition, the organizers displayed newspapers published in September 1945 and after. Most of them devoted the most important page to the important event of September 2.

The Liberation Flag (of the Central Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Indochinese Communist Party) issue dated September 12 devoted half of its front page to the Declaration of Independence.

The newspaper had a sketch of Uncle Ho's portrait, stating: "The 'Declaration of Independence' read by President Ho Chi Minh on September 2, 1945, has a great historical value. 'LIBERATION FLAG' was published late, but it was also considered necessary to publish an important document that, along with INDEPENDENCE DAY, opened a new era for the Vietnamese people."

The Independence Newspaper (published weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays) also devoted its front page not only to daily news, but also to the Declaration of Independence.

The September 7 issue had a large boxed line under the date of issue: Complete Independence. The frame that published the full text of the Declaration of Independence also included a photo of President Ho Chi Minh.

Besides, there are also important and necessary political articles, such as "We need to clearly define whether to overthrow the Cannon or overthrow the French colonial policy?" so that people can understand and have a thorough view...

The mark of the times is also clearly shown in the newspapers of this period. The Kien Quoc issue dated June 17, 1946, displayed at the exhibition, besides basic information about the type and time of publication, also proudly stated "No. 7 Democratic Republic of Vietnam, Year 2".

The exhibition "Autumn of Independence and Aspiration for Prosperity" brings 800 documents and 80 precious photos, following 4 themes: "August Revolution 1945 - The first great victory of the nation in the 20th century" ; "National Day September 2, 1945 - A heroic milestone of the Ho Chi Minh era" recreates the heroic atmosphere at Ba Dinh Square on the day of the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam; "Historical value and epochal significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2" affirms the stature of two great events in the entire cause of building and defending the Fatherland; "Vietnam - 80 years of steady progress" about outstanding achievements in the fields of politics , economics, culture, society, national defense, security, foreign affairs; affirming the position and prestige of Vietnam in the international arena.

The exhibition is open to the public from August 15 to September 15.
