150 tons of price-stabilized goods to serve people in Kien Giang island commune to celebrate Tet

On January 7, the Kien Giang Trade and Tourism Investment Promotion Center announced that a train carrying price-stabilized goods including necessities: rice, milk, sugar, cooking oil, candy, jam, soft drinks... and some household items (cups, bowls, glasses...) had arrived at Tien Hai island commune (Ha Tien city). People in this commune were excited to buy things to prepare for the Lunar New Year 2025.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa - a resident of Tien Hai island commune - said that Tien Hai island commune is far from the mainland. The lives of Ms. Thoa and the people here mainly depend on raising fish in cages at sea, doing business and small trading.

Because travel depends on trains, daily necessities such as bowls, chopsticks, towels, rice, fish sauce, oil, sugar, cakes, jams, etc. are also limited.

"Every year, my fellow islanders and I wait for the ship carrying goods at stable prices to come here to sell so we can buy food for Tet. The ship carries all kinds of goods at stable prices, suitable for everyone's budget. The atmosphere of shopping for Tet on the island is very bustling, I feel very happy," Mrs. Thoa said happily.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Anh - Deputy Director of the Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center - said that to stabilize the market at the end of 2024 and the Lunar New Year 2025, Kien Giang will provide price-stabilized goods including: rice, sticky rice, beans of all kinds, milk, eggs, cakes, candies, jams, soft drinks and many household items to serve people in Tien Hai island commune (Ha Tien city), Son Hai island commune, Hon Nghe (Kien Luong district) and Hon Tre, An Son, Hon Son, Nam Du communes (Kien Hai district).

Price stabilization sales in these island communes will last from January 6 to 19, 2025.

"This year, the locality organized two trains to bring about 150 tons of goods to serve people for Tet shopping. These products and foods will be sold at stable and suitable prices to help people on the island celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025 with their families," Mr. Viet Anh emphasized.
