Accordingly, at 9:00 a.m. on July 16, the upstream water level of Tuyen Quang Lake was at 109.46 m, the water flow into the lake was 673 m3/s, the discharge flow was 673 m3/s. Implementing the inter-reservoir operation process in the Red River basin, in order to ensure the direction and operation of natural disaster prevention and control, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requested Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to open 1 bottom spillway gate.

The Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue requested districts and cities to urgently notify localities and contractors working downstream to closely monitor water level developments and move assets, machinery and equipment to safe places; aquaculture owners to move cages and rafts to safe locations; and people to proactively take measures to respond when floodwaters on rivers rise.
