The Hanoi International Chess Tournament 2023 is the second tournament in the Hanoi International Grandmaster Chess Tournament 2023 system, organized by the Vietnam Chess Federation in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports .

Chess player Dao Minh Nhat won the International Grandmasters' tournament. Wynn Zaw Htunn (Myanmar) won the International Masters' tournament. The FIDE Masters' tournament champion was Doan The Duc.

With this achievement, Dao Minh Nhat achieved the International Grandmaster standard. In addition, player Bang Gia Huy achieved the International Master standard. This is the first international master standard for the 14-year-old Hanoi player.

Closing two tournaments of the Hanoi International Grandmaster Chess Tournament 2023, there were 3 players who achieved the International Grandmaster and International Master standards.

This is considered a successful competition for many Vietnamese players. Some Vietnamese players increased their international elo coefficient, the most impressive of which is Bang Gia Huy with 200 elo points, expected to rise to 5th place in the list of Vietnamese players with the highest elo points in July.

Two tournaments for International Grandmaster, International Master, FIDE Grandmaster standards, and the Vietnam - Singapore international elo coefficient exchange tournament under the Hanoi 2023 International Grandmaster Chess Tournament system gathered 42 players from Singapore (8 players), India (4 players), England (1 player), Russia (competing under the name of the World Chess Federation - FIDE, 2 players), Bangladesh (2 players), Australia (1 player), Indonesia (1 player), Myanmar (1 player), Philippines (1 player) and host Vietnam with 20 players.

At the tournament, the Vietnamese chess team also played a friendly match with the Singapore chess team and won 24-8 in the first round and 20-12 in the second round.
