E.Chess Open Chess Tournament: New and exciting playground

The E.Chess Open Cup 2025 is organized in two forms, online and in person, and is a new and attractive playground for chess players.

The Vietnam Chess Federation has just joined hands withFPT Play to launch the E.Chess Open Chess Tournament, the first semi-professional chess tournament in Vietnam organized in two forms: online and in person. In which, the group stage takes place online through professional online competition platforms, combined in person at 4 locations and the final round is expected to take place in person at the My Dinh Indoor Athletics Palace (Hanoi).

The 2025 E.Chess Open Chess Tournament is scheduled to start at the end of September with 7 groups, including the Open group (regardless of age) and groups from U.6 to U.11. Mr. Nguyen Minh Thang, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Chess Federation, said that the form of online chess competition has appeared for a long time and exploded during the time affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. Currently, online chess tournaments are still maintained and growing. The 2025 E.Chess Open Chess Tournament opens a new direction for chess in Vietnam, bringing the intellectual sport closer to the audience and finding the next generation of players.
