23,000 candidates take the assessment exam to enter Police schools

On the afternoon of July 5, nearly 23,000 candidates taking the assessment exam of the Ministry of Public Security went to complete the exam procedures and listened to the announcement of the exam regulations. Compared to 2024, the number of candidates increased by 26%. The significant increase shows the strong attraction of the Public Security sector to high school students and society.

At the People’s Security Academy, from 1 p.m., many students and parents were present in front of the school gate even though the check-in time was 3 p.m. Candidates came from many different provinces and cities, from Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, Ha Tinh …

With the number of candidates being nearly 3,500, the Academy has organized 7 examination sites (including 4 examination sites at the Academy, 1 examination site at Le Quy Don High School, 1 examination site at Mo Lao Secondary School and 1 examination site at the People's Police University for candidates in the Southern region).

Hoang Kim Hoi (born 2007) just came to Hanoi from Lao Cai early this morning. Hoi is an athlete, studying at the Provincial Sports Training and Training Center. The female student has won many medals at the provincial and national levels, but she temporarily put her sports career on hold to realize her dream of becoming a female police officer.

“I have been playing professional sports since 6th grade, and I am now in my 7th year. I think my physical and mental health are my advantages when studying the police force. I only registered one wish in this year’s university entrance exam. If I don’t pass, I will return to athletics,” Hoi said.

Hoi's goal is the Police Department, People's Security Academy.

Bui Quang Loc (student of Cam Xuyen High School, Ha Tinh) also registered for the Police Profession major, admission group C03 (math, literature, history). Loc carried with him a nervous and anxious mood before this important exam.

“On the day of my high school graduation exam, I didn’t do very well in math. I didn’t know what the Ministry of Public Security’s math exam would be like. The score of this exam is more important than the graduation exam because the weight is 60%,” Loc said.

Tomorrow morning, July 6, candidates will officially begin the 180-minute assessment test consisting of 4 exam codes (CA1, CA2, CA3 and CA4) with three main parts: Compulsory essay (literature), compulsory multiple choice (math, history, English) and optional multiple choice (physics, chemistry, biology, geography). Candidates can choose 1 of the 4 exam codes based on their personal strengths.

Notably, the Ministry of Public Security has expanded the admission combinations to People's Police schools from 7 combinations in 2024 to 15 combinations including A00, A01, B00, B08, C00, C03, D01, D04, D07, D09, D10, K01, K20, K21, K22. These combinations are applied to different groups of industries.

The 2025 assessment test was also adjusted by the Ministry of Public Security to update the changes of the Ministry of Education and Training, in accordance with the 2018 General Education Program. Previously, the reference test was announced early to support candidates in the review process.
