At the time of inspection, the enterprise could not present documents related to intellectual property. The customs authority coordinated with the representative of the rights holder to take samples for examination and initially determined that all the watches were counterfeit. The representative of the rights holder said that if they were genuine, the shipment would be worth about 45 billion VND. The case is being further processed.
Previously, from June 1 to June 15, Team 1 also discovered and handled 4 other violations at the Tra Linh international border gate area. The exhibits included more than 5,700 fake clothing, handbags, and sports shoes of famous brands such as Tommy, Celine, Nike, Louis Vuitton, Lacoste, Adidas, and New Balance.
Among these are more than 700 pairs of fake Adidas and New Balance branded shoes that also have fake Vietnamese origin - a serious violation of both brand and origin.
All cases continue to be investigated and clarified by the authorities for handling according to the law.
