5 times you should not take a bath

VnExpressVnExpress20/05/2023

You should not bathe when you are hungry, after eating or exercising, just coming back from the sun, or at night, when your body is tired.

Bathing helps clean the skin and pores, improve immune function, reduce muscle pain, increase blood flow and brain health, reduce fatigue. In the summer, many people bathe continuously or soak in water to relax and reduce stress.

However, Dr. Doan Hong, Vietnam Institute of Applied Medicine, said that bathing at the wrong time can affect health and even life.

Below are 5 times you should not bathe, according to Dr. Hong.

Hungry and after eating

After eating, the body needs to concentrate blood flow to the digestive organs. At this time, the digestive system begins to work hard to digest food. If you bathe at this time, blood flow will circulate throughout the body more because the blood vessels are heated and dilated, which can affect the food digestion process such as slowing down or interrupting, causing indigestion.

You should not take a bath when you are hungry. At this time, your blood sugar is low. Bathing can cause your body to consume energy and lower your blood sugar even more, causing insufficient blood to the brain, lack of oxygen, making you dizzy, even fainting.

Shower immediately after exercise

After exercise, the heart beats faster to supply oxygen to the muscles. If you take a bath immediately, the blood will circulate throughout the body, leading to ischemia of the heart and brain. You may feel dizzy, nauseous, tired, faint, stroke leading to life-threatening. Therefore, after physical activity, you need time to rest and should not rush to take a bath immediately.

The body is tired

A tired body will have difficulty regulating its temperature, and can easily catch a cold, faint, or have a stroke. It is best to rest for a while to help your body recover.

Going out in the sun

You may want to take a shower right after coming in from the sun because your body is radiating heat, sweating and feeling hot. At this time, taking a shower right away can clog your pores, prevent sweat from escaping, lower your body temperature and make you susceptible to catching a cold.

Night bath

At night the temperature drops, bathing at this time, especially bathing with cold water, can easily cause blood vessels to constrict. Blood vessels are difficult to circulate, leading to headaches and body aches. More dangerously, you can have a stroke or a stroke.
