Delegates reviewed the 75-year journey of traditional relations between the two countries and the development milestones of the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association over the past 35 years.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vu Hoang Linh, Chairman of the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association, stated: Only 5 years after the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, the two countries established diplomatic relations. Since then, the Vietnamese people have always appreciated the valuable support and assistance of the Government and people of Hungary. He affirmed that in 35 years of operation, the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association has actively implemented people-to-people diplomacy, closely coordinated with the Hungarian Embassy in Vietnam to organize many cultural and educational activities, promoting the image of the country and people of the two sides. On this occasion, he expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Hungarian Embassy in Vietnam, especially Ambassador Tibor Baloghdi and businesses and members who have accompanied and supported the Association in many activities.

Ambassador Tibor Baloghdi expressed his pride in the 75-year relationship between the two countries: "We are proud that all Vietnamese people who have studied in Hungary or have connections with Hungary are very willing to help and open to us. Last May, the Hungarian President paid an official visit to Vietnam and we appreciate the attention and efforts of the Vietnamese side so that the two sides can properly celebrate this lasting relationship." The Ambassador also congratulated the 35th anniversary of the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association and hoped that the Association would continue to reap many successes.
Mr. Váraljai Márton, Vice President of the Hungary - Vietnam Friendship Association, expressed his honor to attend the meaningful meeting. He said that being invited by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations to participate in activities within the framework of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day is a special honor, and at the same time brings much inspiration about the strong friendship between the two nations.

He shared that he felt lucky to be able to stay in Vietnam for two more weeks to admire the beauty of the country and its people, reliving the memories from his first visit to Vietnam 41 years ago, as well as his 13 years of working here. Returning to Vietnam on this important occasion, he considered it an emotional, even miraculous experience in his personal journey and in the friendship between the two countries.
Mr. Váraljai Márton also conveyed warm wishes from the President of the Hungary - Vietnam Friendship Association Botz László to all delegates, and expressed his belief that the people-to-people friendship between Vietnam and Hungary will become increasingly stronger, continuing to be the foundation for bilateral cooperation in the future.
