For generations, ethnic minorities in Village 3, Cat Tien 2 Commune have always followed the Party and the State, actively worked in production, and preserved the fine cultural traditions of the nation. Saying goodbye to the nomadic lifestyle, people have now built a prosperous life, a model residential area under the canopy of Cat Tien National Park.

Village 3 has 46 households, 190 people (mainly Stieng people) living in the core area of ​​Cat Tien National Park. Previously, people lived a nomadic lifestyle; since 1994, the Party and State arranged for people to settle down, and people have gradually settled down; thanks to active economic development, up to now the village has no poor households, most of them are well-off and prosperous.

Village 3 has a total natural area of ​​over 1,654 hectares, of which agricultural land accounts for 8.77%, forestry land accounts for over 81.74%. Currently, the main crop of the village is cashew, some old areas with low productivity have been converted to grow durian, grafted cashew, and coffee. Along with that, each household is assigned to manage about 30 hectares of forest, bringing in income to cover daily life.

According to the people, they used to live by growing upland rice; working hard to clear, hoe, burn and till the land but their stomachs were never full. Since the Party, the State and the local government implemented the policy of settling down, the people here have said goodbye to the poles to dig holes to sow upland rice seeds, and have used hoes and plows to reclaim land to grow industrial crops, fruit trees, food and flowers.

Many families now have a comfortable life thanks to growing cashews and durians, such as Dieu K'Mot, Dieu K'Do, and Dieu K'Nan. Mr. Dieu K'Do confided that life is gradually changing day by day; the village in the middle of the forest now has electricity, roads, schools, and stations; food is no longer a concern.

Secretary of the Party Cell of Village 3 Dieu K'Vien said: Identifying the strength of Village 3 as agricultural and forestry production, village cadres have actively coordinated with the village branches and unions to promote propaganda, assign responsibilities to each comrade in the Party Cell, cadres, and party members in charge, and stay close to the grassroots to help and guide the people to change the structure of crops and livestock; change crops with low economic efficiency to crops with high economic efficiency such as durian, grafted cashew, and coffee.

Up to now, in Village 3 there are no more poor households, there is 1 near-poor household receiving social protection, no more hungry households, no more temporary housing; average income per capita in 2024 reached 65 million VND/person/year; people's material and spiritual life is increasingly improved and stable.

Village officials and people have implemented a number of practical models for the people, notably the models of "Flag Road", "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful Village Road", "Garbage-Free Road", "Practicing a Civilized Lifestyle in Weddings and Funerals", mobilizing 100% of households in the village to register to participate in the Campaign to Build Cultural Families; propagandizing and mobilizing people to eliminate the bad customs of the Ma and Stieng people in funerals and weddings; not allowing the situation of dowry, demand for property and funerals to last for many days.

Thanks to the timely understanding and drastic intervention of the Party cell, the People's Committee of the village and the people, up to now, there are no more cases of early marriage and incestuous marriage in the village, no more bad customs; every year, the rate of households achieving "Cultural Family" is over 96%, the rate of households hanging the national flag and having Uncle Ho's picture is 100%... In 2024, Village 3 was recognized as a Model Residential Area. Coming to Village 3 today, a prosperous life under the forest canopy, houses are built spaciously; village roads, hamlets are bright - green - clean - beautiful.

According to the People's Committee of Cat Tien 2 Commune, the households of Village 3 living in the core area of ​​Cat Tien National Park have now had a stable life, people are actively working in production, and currently the village has no poor households. Some households have grasped the market, planting grafted cashew trees and durian, bringing in significant income.
