On the afternoon of November 20, the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health announced that a food poisoning case had just occurred in Buon Ma Thuot City, where the main dish was suspected to be dog meat purchased at a store.

According to initial information, on the afternoon of November 18, the family of Ms. HMNiê, residing in Ko Sier village, Tan Lap ward (Buon Ma Thuot city) organized a meal with the main dish being dog meat.

After finishing the meal, late at night all 8 family members had symptoms of fever, nausea, and fatigue, so they were taken to the emergency room by relatives.

According to the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Health, the reason all 8 people were admitted to the Central Highlands General Hospital was suspected of being due to food poisoning.

After initial treatment, the patients' health has temporarily stabilized and they are being monitored by doctors.

The hospital also took samples for analysis to find the cause.
