Travelers' Choice Awards are annual awards that recognize destinations, accommodations and restaurants for outstanding service.
Voting results are based on millions of reviews and feedback from the international travel community through the world's largest online travel platform Tripadvisor.
In the category "25 most beautiful beaches in the world 2025", Elafonissi on the Greek island of Crete is the beach ranked at the top of the list.
Elafonisi is famous for its crystal clear blue water and pink sand. This unique color comes from a type of microscopic shellfish called Foraminifera. According to scientists , the red shell of Foraminifera after completing its life cycle is crushed by wind and waves and mixed with sand, creating this color.
In addition to the pink sand, this beach is also surrounded by cedar forests that are popular with hikers.
Coming in second on the list is Banana Beach on the Thai island of Phuket. What makes Banana Beach so appealing is its “endless array of marine activities.” Some of the highlights include snorkeling among the coral reefs, windsurfing, and relaxing with a beachside massage while sipping on a cool drink and Thai food .
Coming in at number three is Eagle Beach in Aruba in the Caribbean. According to Tripadvisor users, it is one of the least crowded beaches on the island, offering pristine white sand, warm waters and spectacular sunsets.
Siesta Beach in the US is ranked 4th on TripAdvisor 's list this year. This beach is famous for its fine sand and clear water. Visitors can visit Siesta in the spring and fall because these are the low seasons and will be less crowded.
Praia da Falésia Beach (Olhos de Água, Portugal) - the most beautiful beach in the world in 2024, ranked 5th in this year's list. This place is famous for its golden sands, clear blue water below majestic cliffs.
Kristen Dalton, president of Tripadvisor, said this year's list was voted on by readers based on criteria such as the clean, green water and surrounding landscape, relaxing space, easy access, full tourism services, and impressive experiences for visitors to score the beaches.
