Hydropower plants under the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN); including Power Generation Corporations, in the area affected by storm No. 10 still ensure safety of the works. As of the afternoon of September 29, 16 hydropower reservoirs are regulating spillway discharge to ensure flood prevention capacity and reduce downstream flooding, including: Thac Ba, Trung Son, Ban Ve, Quang Tri, Song Bung 2, Song Bung 4, Song Ba Ha, An Khe, Se San 3A, Se San 4, Pleikrong, Se San 3, Ialy, Buon Tua Srah, Srepok 3 and Buon Kuop. It is expected that Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant will open 1 spillway gate on the evening of September 29.

The storm and prolonged heavy rain caused a number of incidents on the 500kV, 220kV, and 110kV high-voltage grids. Immediately after the storm subsided, the operating units mobilized equipment and personnel to fix the problem. Currently, units under the National Power Transmission Corporation and the Northern and Central Power Corporations have restored 7/15 incidents on the 500kV grid, 16/18 incidents on the 220kV grid, and 42/66 incidents on the 110kV grid.

Due to storm No. 10, by the afternoon of September 29, about 3.4 million customers in many provinces in the North and Central regions had their power interrupted, concentrated in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, Phu Tho, Quang Tri, Hue and Da Nang . The Northern Power Corporation and the Central Power Corporation mobilized about 2,400 people and many vehicles from local power units and from many other units, focusing on restoring power supply as quickly as possible to affected customers.

EVN continues to monitor the situation and will continue to update information on grid operations, hydropower reservoirs and power restoration.
