High gold price still buy

Despite the cold weather, many people in Hanoi still lined up to buy gold for luck, hoping for a smooth business year and prosperity.

Tuoi Tre Online 's records this afternoon at Tran Nhan Tong gold street, Hanoi show many people lining up to buy gold.

Due to the large number of customers, the waiting time to pay and receive gold takes 1-2 hours. Some stores have prepared chairs for customers to sit and wait for transactions.

After waiting for more than an hour to reach the payment area, Mr. NVT (Hoan Kiem - Hanoi) said he bought 13 taels of gold including SJC gold bars and gold rings. He did not buy this amount of gold for himself, but on behalf of several siblings in his family.

"Even though the gold price has peaked, over 90 million VND/tael, I still buy it," Mr. NVT said, sharing the reason as wishing for luck for the whole year, even though the gold price may decrease after God of Wealth Day.

Mrs. HTN ( Vinh Phuc ) said that this morning she traveled 60km in 2 hours from Vinh Yen (Vinh Phuc province) to Hanoi to buy 2 taels of gold rings.

Even though the price of gold is high and tomorrow it may drop sharply, if she buys it and sells it right away she will lose 3.5 million/tael, but she still buys it. Because she believes that buying it will bring luck and fortune for the whole year.

According to our records, the price of SJC gold bars was kept stable by gold shops in Hanoi from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on February 7, with the selling price being 90.3 million VND/tael, and the buying price being 86.8 million VND/tael.

The price of gold rings of the brands is similar to the price of SJC gold bars, the selling price is around 90.250 million VND/tael. The buying price is 86.8 million VND/tael.

In Ho Chi Minh City, according to Tuoi Tre Online, at 11am today at SJC Company, there were quite a lot of customers coming to buy gold for luck. According to the records, the majority bought the God of Wealth gold piece with the shape of a snake, the zodiac animal of the year. Some others bought plain gold rings.

Ms. HK (District 1) said that last year she bought a plain ring on God of Wealth Day for more than 6.5 million VND/tael and made a profit of more than 2 million VND after only one year. Therefore, this year she still bought 1 tael with the mentality of hoping for luck.

Meanwhile, there are customers who buy 2, 3, even 1 tael of gold. This afternoon, a customer bought 1 tael of gold including a plain ring and a lucky snake-shaped gold at SJC Company.

If customers buy a lucky gold piece shaped like a snake, they have to pay an additional 120,000 VND/piece, which is more expensive than the price of the gold piece.

At 12 noon, SJC Company announced a lunch break and reopened at 1 p.m., but many people still rushed to buy and regretfully returned.

At PNJ Company, this afternoon, there were quite a lot of customers coming to buy gold, mainly buying 9999 gold rings because they don't have to pay for labor and are easy to resell. A group of 5 customers bought 5 taels of PNJ gold rings and requested a separate invoice.

As of noon today, the supply of 9999 plain gold rings is still quite abundant. At SJC Company, there are not only full plain rings but also small SJC gold bars, 1-2 chi - the type that is usually very difficult to buy because SJC Company has not produced them for more than 10 years.

At the PNJ store on Hai Ba Trung Street (District 1), there were still enough 1-chi and 2-chi gold rings this afternoon. However, many people took advantage of their lunch break to come and buy, so by 2:00 p.m., all the plain rings were sold out.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online at 3:30 p.m., a representative of PNJ Company said that they had brought in more than 100 plain 9999 rings of the 1-chi type. "The supply is constantly being replenished, but mainly to large stores where there are many buyers," said a representative of PNJ Company.

However, in general, the number of customers buying gold on God of Wealth Day this year is not as crowded as every year due to the high price of gold. Compared to last year's God of Wealth Day, the price of 9999 gold rings this year has increased by about 25 million VND/tael, making many people hesitate.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , a representative of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Bank Gold, Silver, and Gemstone Company Limited (Sacombank-SBJ) admitted that gold purchasing power on God of Fortune Day this year was not as strong as last year but was still at a stable level.

Due to the high price of gold, the company has also flexibly created "thinner, lighter" products with a value of just over or under 1 million VND/item, for people to buy for luck on God of Fortune Day.
