Specifically, Gia Lai area is purchased at 138,000 VND/kg, equal to Ba Ria - Vung Tau price. Binh Phuoc is at 138,500 VND/kg, 500 VND/kg higher than Gia Lai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. Dak Lak and Dak Nong are at 139,500 VND/kg.

World pepper prices today

Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, the market was stable, with no changes compared to. IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,470 USD/ton; the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,055 USD/ton.

The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper is at USD 6,000/ton. The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is at USD 8,400/ton; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper is at USD 10,500/ton.

Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper is stable at 6,200 USD/ton for 500 g/l, 550 g/l remains at 6,500 USD/ton; the price of white pepper is at 9,400 USD/ton, unchanged.

India’s pepper production is expected to reach around 60,000 tonnes in 2023-24, up around 6% from the previous year. The country still faces a shortage as domestic demand is expected to exceed 66,000 tonnes.

VPSA said Vietnam is still the world's top producer and exporter of pepper. However, in the context of competition and market fluctuations favorable for other crops such as coffee and durian, the area and output of Vietnamese pepper are decreasing. The decrease in supply while the demand for consumption has increased has pushed up the price of pepper.
