Ministry of Industry and Trade assigns growth and market development targets after merger

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued Document No. 5061/BCT-TTTN requesting that the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and centrally-run cities, after stabilizing their organizations, quickly focus on 5 key task groups in the last 6 months of the year.

First, localities need to seriously review factors affecting the domestic market, proactively remove difficulties, strongly implement trade promotion activities and stimulate consumption, especially in industries with slow consumption such as garments, household appliances, means of transport, food services...

The Departments of Industry and Trade promote support for businesses and business households to convert to digital platforms, coordinate with functional units to provide guidance on new business methods and tax registration, contributing to modernizing the system of distributing goods to consumers.

Notably, in the context of consumer confidence being affected by many recent cases involving poor quality goods of unknown origin, discovered and handled, the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized the need to strengthen communication and promotion of domestic goods, and support brand building for legitimate businesses to strengthen market confidence.

In addition, localities need to quickly develop plans and implement market stabilization programs, connecting supply and demand in the late 2025 period and Lunar New Year 2026, and fully prepare plans to reserve essential goods during the rainy and stormy season, ensuring stable supply.

Finally, the overarching task is to closely monitor supply and demand and prices of essential goods to promptly take measures and proactively report to competent authorities when there are unusual fluctuations, contributing to effectively implementing the goals of controlling inflation and stabilizing the macro economy .

The Ministry of Industry and Trade requests that the Departments of Industry and Trade of localities seriously, promptly and responsibly implement the assigned contents. In case of any problems or difficulties in implementation, localities should proactively contact the Ministry of Industry and Trade to coordinate and resolve them in order to ensure the domestic trade growth target in 2025.
