Accordingly, traders directly using sugar as raw material for production and traders using raw sugar to produce refined sugar are proposed to be allocated import tariff quotas for sugar by auction method (according to regulations in Article 3 of Circular No. 11/2022/TT-BCT dated June 27, 2022 of the Minister of Industry and Trade).
The amount of import tariff quota for sugar (HS code 17.01) allocated in 2024 by auction is 126,000 tons (one hundred twenty-six thousand tons).
Starting price is 2,100,000 VND/ton, step price is 50,000 VND/ton, deposit: (starting price x quantity of sugar registered for import tariff quota allocation) x 10%.
The application for allocation of import tariff quota for sugar in 2024 by auction method is implemented according to the provisions of the Notice.
The time for receiving documents is calculated according to the date of the incoming document of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from 8:00 a.m. on August 29, 2024 to 5:00 p.m. on September 10, 2024.
Previously, the 2023 sugar import tariff quota allocation session by auction was successful with 107,000 tons of sugar allocated to 8 traders.
