Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra receives additional duties

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed a Decision to reorganize the Central Gratitude Fund Management Board.

According to the Decision, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Minister of Home Affairs, is the Head of the Central Gratitude Fund Management Board.

Deputy Heads of the Committee: Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee; Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front .

Members include: Mr. Pham Hong Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Veterans Association; Ms. Tran Lan Phuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The Gratitude Fund is built by voluntary contributions based on responsibility and sentiment from domestic and foreign agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals to join the state in taking care of people with meritorious services to the revolution.

The Gratitude Fund is used to: Repair cemeteries, memorials, build memorial houses to record the names of martyrs; support the construction and repair of houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution or their relatives; visit and support people with meritorious services to the revolution or their relatives when they are sick, receive medical examination and treatment, and when they pass away while their families are in difficulty; help people with meritorious services to the revolution or their relatives when they are in difficulty in life...

The Gratitude Fund Management Board at each level has the following tasks: Directing the mobilization, construction, management and use of the Gratitude Fund; inspecting the activities of the Gratitude Fund under its management; ensuring proper collection and expenditure, and compliance with current accounting and financial regimes;

Every year, the Gratitude Fund's revenue and expenditure estimates and final accounts are prepared and sent to the Gratitude Fund Management Board at the higher level, the People's Committee and the financial agency at the same level. The Central Gratitude Fund Management Board prepares the revenue and expenditure estimates and final accounts and sends them to the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance; organizes accounting and reports on the revenue and expenditure final accounts of the Gratitude Fund in accordance with the current accounting and financial regime; proposes rewards for units and individuals with achievements; recommends handling of violations...
