Previously, the People's Committee of Hue city sent a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism asking for opinions on the content of the Plan to restore the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne.

Basically, the plan has been seriously researched and built with full content needed to restore national treasures according to regulations.

However, in order for the restoration of the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne, to be carried out in a scientific and legal manner, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests the People's Committee of Hue City to pay attention to a number of contents.

Regarding legal basis, replace the Law on Cultural Heritage dated June 18, 2001 and the Law on amending and supplementing the Law on Cultural Heritage dated June 18, 2009 with the Law on Cultural Heritage dated November 23, 2024.

Regarding the purpose, it is necessary to accurately determine the result of the restoration as "returning the object to the state most similar to the time of constructing the dossier to propose recognition as a national treasure in 2015".

In addition, it is necessary to supplement and clarify the requirement to only use new techniques, technologies and materials in an appropriate and appropriate manner. It is necessary to supplement and assess the risks that may be encountered during the restoration process and the security and safety conditions when carrying out the restoration.

The compilation of records on the current status of national treasures needs to be compared and cross-checked with the records of artifacts proposed for recognition as national treasures in 2015; related sources of documents (if any) need to be carefully reviewed and evaluated for reference.

Regarding the professional and supervisory council, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recommends that, in addition to the list of members, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hue City should advise the People's Committee of Hue City to clearly define the duties and powers of the Council.

As reported by Van Hoa , on the afternoon of May 24, Ho Van Phuong Tam (42 years old) while visiting Thai Hoa Palace - Hue Imperial City climbed over the security fence and sat on the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty throne. This subject violated and broke the left armrest of the throne into many pieces.

In connection with this incident, many individuals and groups of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center were disciplined, including two security guards who were fired. Ho Van Phuong Tam was prosecuted by Hue City Police.

In order to restore the national treasure, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism agreed to let the People's Committee of Hue City establish a council to assess the condition and propose a plan to preserve and restore the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne.

The Nguyen Dynasty throne was recognized as a national treasure under Decision No. 2382/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister in 2015.
