Boeing sells defense subsidiary

According to Reuters, the company being sold is Digital Receiver Technology, which specializes in making wireless equipment for US intelligence agencies and the military. The amount was not disclosed, but the deal comes as Boeing is struggling to find a way to cope with financial difficulties. The corporation is facing production delays, safety issues and worker strikes. A month-long strike at Boeing factories on the US West Coast has hampered production of the 737 MAX, 767 and 777 aircraft models. Workers are expected to vote on a new contract proposal on October 23 to end the strike.
