Strategic technologies of the rising era
The conference's presentations focused on raising awareness of the role of scientific and technological information in Vietnam's socio-economic development. Notably, there were two discussion sessions on strategic technologies of the emerging era; the need and current status of scientific and technological information for the business community, universities, and research institutes.
Sharing about strategic technologies, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Minh Triet, Vice Rector of the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said that it is necessary to promote the application of information, artificial intelligence and virtual reality not only within the specialized field but also expanding to many other fields, thereby spreading the value of scientific and technological information. In addition to information sources shared from the library system, it is also necessary to diversify access forms, for example through professional associations on artificial intelligence, machine learning and related fields.
Dr. Huynh Phu Minh Cuong, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), said that it is necessary to increase investment and research in the semiconductor field. The workshop also had many comments on policy development and proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of application and management of scientific and technological information in socio-economic development.
