Two ancient agarwood trees over 200 years old at Khoai Vac Temple (Huong Pho commune, Ha Tinh province) have just been recognized as Vietnam Heritage Trees.

Two agarwood trees over 200 years old, located in the Khoai Vac temple grounds, have a trunk circumference of 2.7m to 3.7m, a height of 8m to 11m, and a canopy width of 9m to 11.5m. Both trees are growing well and are cultural and spiritual symbols of the local community.

Khoai Vac Temple, located in Huong Pho Commune (formerly Huong Thuy Commune, old Huong Khe District), is a place to worship national heroes and attracts many local people to visit. This is also an important spiritual address, associated with the history of the Can Vuong uprising.

According to Mr. Phan Van Chien (93 years old), who has been taking care of the temple for more than 40 years, the two agarwood trees are the temple's sacred "treasures", preserved and protected by the people.

The representative of Huong Pho Commune People's Committee also said that this is a milestone event in the conservation of natural heritage, while affirming the cultural, historical and spiritual value of the two agarwood trees to the local community. This is also an opportunity to raise awareness of protecting the natural landscape, contributing to the conservation of biodiversity in the mountains and forests of Ha Tinh.
