DNO - On June 13, Danang Port Joint Stock Company (Danang Port) put into operation the yard behind wharfs 4 and 5 of Tien Sa port (Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district).

The project, invested by Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company, started construction on February 7, 2022 on an area of ​​37,415m2 , with a capacity of approximately 110,000 Teus, meeting the increasing demand for container cargo exploitation, helping the loading and unloading of wharf equipment, transporting goods between wharves, yards and vice versa to be convenient and in accordance with the planning and development orientation of Da Nang Port.

According to Da Nang Port, the strategic development orientation is to focus on container services, considering container goods as the main commodity, gradually building the port to become the largest and most modern container port in the Central region.

At the same time, developing services for container ships, passenger ships and large tonnage ships is considered a key factor for Da Nang Port to differentiate itself and affirm its position.

The project to build the yard behind wharfs 4 and 5 of Tien Sa port was completed in combination with the existing warehouse system at Tien Sa Port Enterprise and its member companies, increasing the total port area to nearly 30 hectares.

The project also includes the equipment of 4 ERTG cranes and accompanying technical infrastructure, meeting the needs of serving container ships up to 50,000 DWT and general cargo ships up to 70,000 DWT, and passenger ships with a capacity of 168,000 GT.

The investment in the construction of the project behind wharfs 4 and 5 of Tien Sa port also demonstrates Da Nang Port's commitment to orienting the development of the Port towards container ship services, cruise ships and large tonnage ships.

The project has received great support and consensus from Vietnam National Shipping Lines, the City People's Committee, and central and local functional units.

In particular, Vietnam National Shipping Lines plays an important role in supporting project implementation, through orientation, providing capital, and creating favorable conditions for Da Nang Port to implement the project.

The completed project contributes significantly to the synchronous development of the logistics system serving seaports, creating the foundation for Tien Sa Port to become a modern container port in the region.

On the other hand, Da Nang Port is increasingly proving its important role in the socio -economic development not only of Da Nang city but also of the entire Central region.

With a favorable geographical location, increasingly guaranteed quality services, modern infrastructure and equipment, constantly increasing labor productivity, qualified and experienced staff, etc., Da Nang Port is gradually establishing its brand on the maritime map of Vietnam and the region.
